Spring 2026 House Registration

VFA SPRING 2026 HOUSE REGISTRATION OPEN NOW!

IMPORTANT!
NEW FOR 2026: TWO STEP REGISTRATION PROCESS

STEP ONE: Register with Softball BC (Through RAMP)

All players are now required to pay a fee each year directly to Softball BC. In the past, VFA paid annual player and team fees to Softball BC. Starting this year, Softball BC is requiring each player to pay an annual Membership fee through Softball BC's online platform, RAMP. VFA season registration fees (listed below) have been adjusted to account for this requirement.

To pay your player's 2026 Softball BC Membership fee, REGISTER HERE.

You will need to create a RAMP account (if you don't have one already) or log in to RAMP. Register with Softball BC BEFORE registering with VFA below. Players MUST complete 2026 Softball BC registration in order to participate in VFA programming. If you registered with Softball BC in order to participate in a Winter 2026 Clinic with VFA (clinic sessions running January - March 2026), you've already completed this step.

STEP TWO: Register for VFA's Spring 2026 Season (Through TeamSnap)

Once you've completed registration with Softball BC for 2026, register for VFA's 2026 Spring House season. REGISTER HERE!

REGISTRATION NOTES

Welcome to all new and returning players for VFA's Spring 2026 House softball season!

VFA's House program runs from early April to late June (official dates TBD). House is our recreational program that focuses on friends, fun, and softball skills development. 80% of our players play House. Refer to this page for days of the week and times for programming by age group. (There may be small deviations for U7 through U11 age groups depending on registration numbers and field permitting.) Age group divisions are mandated by Softball Canada, and ages are by calendar year. U7 & U9 Learn to Play (LTP) participants, please note that at least one parent or designated adult is expected to attend EVERY session with their child.

VFA wants every child to be able to participate in sports. If cost of participation is a financial burden, please check organizations such as Kidsport and Athletics4Kids for grant eligibillity.

Volunteering
This year VFA will again charge a mandatory $50 Volunteer Fee at registration. Refund of this fee will be available for registered coaches, team managers, board and executive members, and families providing other approved volunteer support communicated by VFA during the season. Other approved club-level volunteering opportunities may include pre-season field clean-up, concessions, events such as photo day, and other activities. Payment of this fee does not excuse families from team-level tasks, such as gameday field preparation or scorekeeping. All families are expected to provide team-level volunteer support, which is necessary for your player's team to function.

VFA is a volunteer-run community club. Our greatest needs are in filling Executive roles, which help the club run smoothly. A number of roles are currently available, including in areas of scheduling, communications, concessions, and others. Please reach out to vfaoperations@gmail.com if you would like information about taking on an Executive role.

We also need parents to continue to volunteer as coaches and team managers! What exactly does this mean?

Team Managers are the point of contact (through their Age Group Coordinator) for their team's communications with VFA as well as for their players and coaches to communicate with VFA and each other. They:

  • enter and update the team's schedule in TeamSnap,
  • work with coaches to determine best practice day(s) and time for the team,
  • in older age groups, work with coaches to determine which tournaments to play in,
  • arrange for pickup of uniforms at the beginning of the season and return of uniforms at the end of season,
  • assign parent volunteers (snacks, scorekeepers, field prep, etc.),
  • organize their team on picture day,
  • organize coaches' gifts,
  • work with coaches to organize team bonding activities (parents vs kids game, team BBQ, pizza party, etc.).

Team Managers do not have to attend every game and practice. They can organize everything and then sit back and relax.

Coaches encourage player development, softball skills development, and social bonding. They:

  • pick up equipment from VFA at the beginning of the season, bring it to all games and practices, and return to VFA at the end of season,
  • work with the manager to determine practice days and times and, in older age groups, which tournaments to play in,
  • create line up and determine field positions for games,
  • conduct warms ups before games and team meetings after games,
  • conduct practices focusing on age group appropriate skills (guidance provided by VFA),
  • work with the manager to organize team bonding activities.

All coaches do not have to attend every game and practice; two coaches per game and practice is the minimum. Each team will ideally have a Head Coach and 1 - 2 Assistant Coaches to cover scheduling conflicts and run more than one skill station at practices.

In addition to VFA guidance, Softball BC has Coaching Modules and other Resources available. If you'd like to volunteer as a Team Manager, Head Coach or Assistant Coach, list your name and preferred role in the registration form!

Teammate Requests
Before registering, discuss with your player(s) whether they have any teammate requests. You will be able to list up to 3 "preferred teammates" in the registration form. List teammates, not coaches or teams! VFA forms house teams based on friend requests as well as other factors such as school attended and preferences about any previous teams. This is your player's opportunity to make friend requests. To increase your chances of being placed with friends, REGISTER BY MARCH 1! Team formation begins in early March. Teammate requests after that date cannot be guaranteed.

Refer-a-Friend Discount
Consistent with prior seasons, VFA is offering a $50 discount to any returning VFA player who was registered for the 2025 season who refers a NEW player, born between 2019 (second year U7) and 2006 (U20), for the 2026 season. If you refer a new player in these age groups, ask them to identify your player in their registration form. Refer up to two new players for a maximum total discount of $100! Referral discounts will be processed as refunds after the season begins.

Sibling Discount
VFA is also again offering a $100 discount off the total cost of registration if two or more siblings are registered for the season. To be considered for the sibling discount, select the number of siblings you are registering in the registration form. The discount will be processed as a refund after the season begins.

Late Fee
Regular season registration will close on March 15. After that date, late registrations will be subject to an additional $50 fee per player.

Refunds
Registration fee refund requests must be submitted to vfaoperations@gmail.com before April 15 and are subject to a $20 administration fee. No refunds will be considered after April 15 without a medical letter.

If you have questions regarding registration, contact vfaoperations@gmail.com.
